Taking fundraising to new heights at Elland Road

Challenge yourself and make a difference with this opportunity from Leeds United Foundation

There are plenty of ways to support good causes across the city. Some are quiet and behind the scenes. Others ask a little more of you. And then there are the ones that quite literally take things to another level.

On Saturday 25th April, the Leeds United Foundation is inviting people to experience Elland Road in a completely different way. A zipwire across the pitch followed by an abseil down the stadium is not your typical Saturday morning activity, but that is exactly the point. It is an opportunity to step outside your comfort zone while raising vital funds to support communities across Leeds.

At One for the City, partnership sits at the heart of everything we do. We know that real, lasting change comes when organisations work together with a shared purpose. That is why we are proud to support the Leeds United Foundation and to be part of a wider network that is committed to improving lives across the city.

The Foundation’s work reaches into communities in ways that genuinely make a difference. From supporting young people to access new opportunities, to improving health and wellbeing, and tackling some of the inequalities that exist across Leeds, their programmes are rooted in local need and delivered with care and commitment. Fundraising activities like this play a crucial role in making that work possible.

But what makes this event stand out is not just the cause, it is the experience. For many, Elland Road is a place filled with memories, matchdays, and moments of collective pride. This event offers a completely new perspective. Participants will see the stadium from above, take in views that are usually reserved for television cameras, and challenge themselves in a way that is both memorable and meaningful.

Events like this do not happen in isolation. They are made possible through collaboration, generosity, and a willingness to support a shared goal. It is important to recognise the organisations helping to bring this experience to life. With thanks to Burflex (Scaffolding) Ltd, Big Bang Experiences, and Creator, whose support helps ensure the event can go ahead and make the impact it is designed to achieve.

For those considering taking part, the barrier to entry is intentionally low. For £25, participants can secure their place and commit to raising funds that will go directly towards supporting the Foundation’s work. It is a small step to sign up, but it can lead to a significant impact.

We are pleased to stand alongside the Leeds United Foundation as a partner, and to support opportunities like this that bring people together in support of the city. It is a reminder that everyone has a role to play, and that even small actions can contribute to something much bigger.

If you are looking for a way to get involved, challenge yourself, and support an organisation making a difference across Leeds, this is an opportunity worth considering.

Sometimes, making an impact starts with taking a step outside your comfort zone. In this case, it might just start from the top of Elland Road.
